Scholarship Benefits

The GIST Scholarship 2024-2025 offers the following benefits to its recipients:

Tuition Assistance (All students)

  • Full tuition support: 3,415,000 won per semester
  • A one-time matriculation fee of 680,000 won applies to all newly admitted students. Some students may be exempt from this fee.

Monthly Stipends (All International Students)

  • Student stipend: 140,000 won per month for M.S. students, 295,000 won per month for Ph.D. students
  • Meal allowance: approximately 100,000 won per month. Eligibility requires completing at least 9 credits in the previous semester.
  • International student allowance: 120,000 won per month. Eligibility requires a GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.5) in the previous semester.

Research Assistantship (For students involved in research projects)

  • 4,785,384 won for M.S. students
  • 12,263,262 won for Ph.D. students

Housing

  • Accommodation provided in dormitories

Medical Coverage

  • 60% of National Health Insurance costs covered

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the GIST Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant must meet admission requirements of their respective departments
  • Have a bachelor’s degree to apply for a master’s degree.
  • Have master’s degree to apply for PhD degree
  • Candidates must meet the English language requirements (Minimum scores): 80 (TOEFL iBT), 6.5 (Academic IELTS), 750 (TOEIC), 600 (TEPS), 327 (NEW TEPS).

Note: You can apply with a Certificate of English Proficiency under conditional admission at GIST. Here is what you need to do:

Submit the Certificate of English Proficiency: Use this certificate if you don't have an official English test score at the time of application.

Submit Official English Test Scores: Once conditionally admitted, you must submit an official English test score that meets GIST's requirements (mentioned above) within 6 months from the date of admission.

How to Apply

Step 1: Submit the online application and upload required documents.

Step 2: The International Admissions Coordinator will contact you once your application and documents are confirmed. (Check My Status online in dashboard)

Step 3: Notification of results will be sent around June 15, 2025 for Fall admission and November 30, 2025 for Spring admission.

Step 4: Once you get selected for scholarship then Complete enrollment by submitting documents and paying the Matriculation Fee (680,000 won equal to 136,562 pkr, one-time fee paid by new students to officially enroll at a university).

Step 5: Obtain a student visa application form from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in your home country.
